Fort Wayne, Ind. – All three Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Golf Courses are scheduled to reopen on May 4, following closures due to the COVID-19 response. Foster Park Golf Course, McMillen Park Golf Complex, and Shoaff Park Golf Course and Driving Range will open to the public at 10 am on May 4 with some modifications to allow for safe social distancing in the clubhouses and on the courses themselves.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale, sponsored by the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, is now selling a wide variety of locally-grown plants on-line. The sale features annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, and many other garden items. The annual fund raiser is being held this year with some modifications due to the COVID-19 crisis. A complete plant list is available at shop.botanicalconservatory.org where customers can purchase through May 5, with plants available for contactless pickup at Lawton Park starting May 7. Specific pickup times will be selected during the online shopping process.

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Celebrates 30th Tree City USA Award

 

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The National Arbor Day Foundation has awarded the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department with its 30th consecutive Tree City USA designation, and the department culminated a week-long celebration by planting trees in Brewer Park.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The 2020 season opening of Hurshtown Reservoir has been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak response. Hurshtown is now scheduled to open on May 22.
