Riverfront’s first ever “Dig Day” is coming to Promenade Park on Saturday, May 4. Bring your kids and join us between 12:00-3:00 p.m. for a day of delightful discovery about paleontology and archaeology! Self-led activities will be available through the program, as well as guided activities at specific times. Be sure to be ready for impromptu dinosaur photos. Do You Dig History?

Saturday, May 4, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion

Do you dig history? Putting puzzles together? Figuring out stories from clues? Kids ages 3-12 are invited to come dig into our past, and join us at Promenade Park to learn about history, archaeology (human stuff), and paleontology (dinosaur stuff)! Please note that some activities may be more difficult for younger children, but all are welcome to learn at this free program!

Irish Folk Bands: The High Kings & Gaelic Storm to play at Foellinger Theatre

General and in-person sales begin Friday, April 26, at 10:00a.m.  

Fort Wayne, Ind. –Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation announces that Fort Wayne’s Foellinger Theatre will host The High Kings & Gaelic Storm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

The High Kings are Finbarr Clancy, Darren Holden, Paul O' Brien and Brian Dunphy who have held the position as the distinctive voice of Irish folk music across the world for the last 15 years. 

Fort Wayne Awarded Tree City USA® by Arbor Day Foundation

2024 marks 34th consecutive year for award  

 

Fort Wayne, Ind –Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, Trees Indiana and other tree enthusiasts gathered today to celebrate Arbor Day. Fort Wayne has been named a Tree City USA® by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 34th consecutive year in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. The Parks Department also announced that the city received a Growth Award for the 19th consecutive year for demonstrating environmental improvement and an outstanding level of tree care.
