Veterans Golf Free on Veterans Day

Monday, November 11, is final day for city golf courses  

 

Fort Wayne, Ind – Veterans and active military personnel are invited to play golf for free at Foster, Shoaff or McMillen Park Golf Courses on Monday, November 11, (electric carts are not included in this special).

 

Those who wish to play for free are asked to present a military I.D. and schedule a tee time. Tee times may be reserved online. Or you may call your preferred golf course at the number below:

 

 

Monday, November 11, will also be the final day of golf for the season at the three Fort Wayne golf courses.

 

If you’re looking for a great Christmas gift, 2025 season passes are available at 2024 prices until December 31, 2024 at the Main Parks Office (705 East State Blvd.).

The Month Ahead

Riverfront Fort Wayne presents the following events and programs at Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street and Headwaters Park, 333 South Clinton Street in November:

 

Dance Promenade: Latin Dance Fundamentals

Wednesdays, November 6, 13 and 20, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion

Dance Promenade returns with an in-depth three-part workshop focused on fundamental techniques along with musicality and styling for Latin dance including Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha or even Rumba. Join instructor Brenda Diaz as she reviews weight transfer, body position, hand styling and more. If you don’t know how to move your hips, this class is for you. Volunteer Invasive Removal at Lindenwood

Saturday, November 2, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Lindenwood Nature Preserve, 600 Lindenwood Avenue

Join us to help remove invasive plant species that are threatening biodiversity at Lindenwood Nature Preserve. Volunteers will join experts from Indiana Native Plant Society in pulling and cutting down burning bush, privet, bush honeysuckle, and multiflora rose. Some tools and gloves will be provided, but bring your own hand tools, if you have them (manual power only).

Spirit of History Walking Tour

Friday, October 18, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Wells Street Bridge, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This walking tour will tread through the history surrounding the park, including its hauntings and vices. Hosts will endeavor to bring history to life by telling tales and breathing life back into the souls that still haunt our building and town—relax and enjoy the tour through time. This is designed for ages 13 and above. Admission is free.
