Skate It Off

Friday, January 12, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Headwaters Park Ice Rink, 333 South Clinton Street

It’s time to Skate It Off at Headwaters Park! Skate like it’s 1989 to Taylor tunes all night long! So make the friendship bracelets and wear your best Taylor-inspired outfits (including the red scarves, cardigans, and Junior Jewels t-shirts). This is a night you will remember All Too Well. We will be Enchanted to meet you at the Eras Tour (Riverfront version). This night is open to all ages. General admission and skate rental fees apply.

 

  Kickboxing with 9Round

Sunday, January 14, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park 202, West Superior Street

Kick and punch your way through a great workout at this free monthly exercise class. Instructors will lead participants in a calorie burning journey like no other.

 

Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, January 14, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

This free, relaxing one-hour flow yoga class is designed for all skill levels and led by owner of Discover Yoga, Chelsea Vona. Bring your own yoga mat to Promenade Park or borrow one for the class.

 

 Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Sunday, January 14, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Topher Beyer will perform with vocals and acoustic guitar. The concert is free and open to all ages. Seating will be on a first come first served basis.

Dance Promenade: A Night at the Ballroom

Thursday, January 18, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Dancers of all skill levels and ages are invited to participate in a night of Ballroom Dancing! Featured styles will include Waltz, Rumba, Swing and Foxtrot. This is an open event, no partner is required. Everyone is encouraged to change partners and experience different dance styles. Pre-register for a guaranteed spot. Walk-ins will be welcome as space is available with credit card payment only.

 

 Botanical Speedway

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Racers ready—rev your engines in the Botanical Conservatory’s latest winter exhibit. Kids will pedal along and burn some rubber on a tropical racetrack as part of this exciting family outing that will have you strolling down victory lane. Imagine accelerating toward the finish line on this fast, not furious, superspeedway. Helmets are available. On Your Marks, Get Set, GROW! Sponsored by English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation, Howard P. Arnold Foundation, Magee-O’Conner Foundation, WANE 15 and 103.9 Wayne FM.

 

Highland Meet and Greet Sessions

Saturday, January 20, 10:00a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road

Registration is now available for the first meet and greet sessions of the year. Meet Franke and Mickey the resident highland mini steers at Salomon Farm Park. Appointments are being accepted for special meet and greet sessions on Saturday, January 20. Each private session will include 30 minutes of exclusive interaction with Franke or Mickey for up to four people. Brush, feed, pet and take pictures of your visit with your cell phone. Participants must be 10 years of age and older. Please wear close toed shoes. A few sessions are still available for this date, but are filling up quickly. Session fee is $65 and can be reserved online at www.FortWayneParks.org or by phone at 260-427-6000.

 

 Frosty Flow

Sunday, January 21, 10:30–11:30 a.m.

Headwater Park Ice Rink

Chill out and enjoy a unique yoga experience as we will be nama-staying on the ice during this one-hour session led by Chelsea Vona of Discover Yoga. Dress warm, wear tennis shoes and bring a yoga mat and a beach towel (to place under your mat) for the first Frosty Flow! Purchase $5 tickets online at https://riverfrontfw.org or by phone 260-427-6000 by January 19. Walk-ins will be welcome, if space is available; credit card only, please.

Enjoy skating outside in downtown Fort Wayne. Admission is $6 for age 3 and above and free for age 2 and under. Skate rental is $3. Ice conditions are subject to weather. Ten-punch admission cards for the Headwaters Ice Rink are now available for sale at the rink admission trailer (10 admissions/$50) or at the Main Office (705 E. State Blvd.) Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Credit cards are accepted.

Inclement Weather Procedure: Any program changes, facility closures or other weather-related adjustments will be posted to the FWPRD social media pages and website. Text alerts will be sent (to those that have opted-in to this service). If the Mayor declares an emergency, all Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will be closed or canceled.
