Final $1 Thursday Skate Night
Thursday, February 22, 4:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Headwaters Park Ice Rink, 333 South Clinton Street
Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation announces that the final reduced admission skating and skate rental is planned for Thursday, February 22, during normal hours of operation at the Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink. The $1 admission skate day is thanks to a donation by Marcia Crawford and Grant Crawford who wish to celebrate the memory and community service of Dr. John Crawford, a physician and radiation oncologist and 20-year member of the Fort Wayne City Council. Reduced admission and $1 skate rentals will be offered for guests on Feb. 22.
Wild Walkers

This adult hiking group meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month for a walk on the wild side. Each hike features a different natural area in the region (parks, wetlands, nature preserve, etc.) and carpooling is available when necessary. Literacy Expo at Promenade!

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street
Celebrate all forms of literacy and learn about reading assistance programs in Fort Wayne at the second annual Riverfront Literacy Expo. All family members can delight in free activities such as the Human Library, a calligraphy station and local author meet and greet. Book donations will also be accepted. If you see a book you’d like to read, you can trade a book for it. This FREE community event is a great way to engage and learn through others perceptions, struggles and growth by sharing experiences and various forms of literature.

Racers ready—rev your engines in the Botanical Conservatory’s latest winter exhibit. Kids will pedal along and burn some rubber on a tropical racetrack as part of this exciting family outing that will have you strolling down victory lane. Imagine accelerating toward the finish line on this fast, not furious, superspeedway. Helmets are available. On Your Marks, Get Set, GROW! Sponsored by English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, Howard P. Arnold Foundation, Magee-O’Conner Foundation, Fort Wayne Park Foundation, WANE 15 and 103.9 Wayne FM.

Enjoy skating outside in downtown Fort Wayne. Admission is $6 for age 3 and above and free for age 2 and under. Skate rental is $3. Ice conditions are subject to weather. The final day of operation this season is Sunday, Feb. 25.

Be allured by the colorful mystique of Orchids on display in the Botanical Conservatory’s Tropical House. Experience captivating, long-lasting blooms in an intimately devoted space that mirrors the everlasting love shared with those closest to you. Orchids and other remarkable plants are available for purchase in the Conservatory Shop. Included with general admission.
