Fort Wayne, Ind. – Riverfront Fort Wayne presents the following events and programs at Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street in September:

$15 Summer Special Sweet Breeze Tour

Tuesday, September 3, 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. (45 minute tour) and 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. (45 minute tour)

South Dock

Experience an iconic Sweet Breeze tour for just $15! This limited time opportunity will provide a guided history cruise on the Fort Wayne Rivers. Reservations can be made online at www.RideSweetBreeze.org or via the Fort Wayne Parks App (until midnight on day prior to tour); in person at the Parks and Recreation Offices (705 East State Blvd.) or by phone 260-427-6000 during normal business hours. Walk-ups are welcome at the dock as space is available by cash or credit card. 

Sweet Breeze History Tours

Saturday, September 7, 2:45 – 3:30 p.m. (45-minute tour), 3:45 – 5:15 p.m. (90-minute tour)

Sunday, Sept. 8, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. (90-minute tour), 2:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (45-minute tour)

South Dock

Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90, 60 or 45-minute cruise options. Tickets are $30 per person for a 90-minute cruise, $23 for a 60 minute tour and $20 per person for 45-minute cruise. Reservations can be made online (until midnight on day prior to tour) at www.RideSweetBreeze.org or via the Fort Wayne Parks App; in person at the Parks and Recreation Offices (705 East State Blvd.) or by phone 260-427-6000 during normal business hours. Park Foundation Pavilion

Kick and punch your way through a great workout at this free monthly exercise class. Instructors will lead participants in a calorie burning journey like no other.

 

Yoga on the Riverfront

Sunday, September 8, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion

This free, relaxing one-hour flow yoga class is designed for all skill levels and led by owner of Discover Yoga, Chelsea Vona. Bring your own yoga mat to Promenade Park or borrow one for the class.

 

 

Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown

Sunday, September 8, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Come see why Riverfront is Always Moving! Express yourself with sidewalk chalk, stop on the Parkview Tree Canopy Trail for a photo opportunity, purchase and enjoy food and beverages at Teds Snack + Bar, play cornhole, ping-pong and foosball in the Outdoor Games area, splash around in the Doermer Kids Canal, have fun in the PNC Playground and relax on the urban swings overlooking the St. Marys River.

 

 

Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Sunday, September 8, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion

The Summit City Singers will bring their harmonies to Riverfront Fort Wayne. The concert is free and open to all ages. Seating inside will be on a first come first served basis.

Sweet Breeze Specialty: The Harp Condition

Saturday, September 14, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (90-minute tour)

South Dock  

Enjoy a beautiful Fall day on the river as you witness one of the most unique live performances in town. Dan Dickerson of The Harp Condition and flautist Amber Feichter will play their own versions of modern tunes in a way you've likely never heard before! Light refreshments will be served. Bonus Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Park Foundation Pavilion

The American Legion Band will bring “The Golden Radio Days” performance to Riverfront Fort Wayne. The concert is free and open to all ages. Seating inside will be on a first come first served basis.

 

Sweet Breeze Fest

Saturday, September 21, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (45-minute tours)

Sunday, September 22, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (45-minute tours)

South Dock  

This is a limited opportunity to experience a 45-minute cruise on the Sweet Breeze canal boat replica for only $5 per person. Seven tours on Saturday and Sunday will thrill up to 38 people. Reservations will be accepted beginning on Monday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m. online at www.RideSweetBreeze.org, via the Fort Wayne Parks app or by phone at 260-427-6000. 

 

Confluence Kitchen: Latin America

Friday, September 27, 6:00- 9:00 p.m.

Park Foundation Pavilion

The focus for this iteration of Confluence Kitchen is the diverse and rich culture, music, and food of Latin America. The entire family will enjoy Latin Flavors from local food trucks and sugar cane beverages. KelsiCote Banda will perform live music during the event and share information about the International Concert Series at PFW the next day. Kids activities and a photo booth will also be available. Free Family Fishing Day

Saturday, September 28, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

South Dock

Take advantage of Indiana DNR’s Free Fishing Days at Promenade Park! We will provide poles and lessons on fishing for the whole family on the South Dock. Drop a line and stay awhile. No experience is needed and all fishing equipment provided on a first come, first served basis.

 

 

Sweet Breeze Specialty: Bridges and Bagels

Saturday, September 28, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (180-minute tour)

South Dock  

The history of Fort Wayne's many bridges is filled with amazing stories and fascinating details! Get lost in the narration of historian-storyteller Mark Meyer as you enjoy brunch on the boat with a spread from Davey's bagels! This two-hour tour will go to the boundaries of our range on all three rivers.
