Sheep Meet & Greet
Sunday, September 8, 30-minute sessions between 9:00 a.m.-1:40 p.m.
Salomon Farm Park, 817 West Dupont Road
Be among the first to interact with London and Lucky, Salomon Farm’s recent additions to the herd. Each private session will include 30 minutes of exclusive interaction with the two lambs for up to four people. Pet, feed and take pictures of your visit with your cell phone. Following your session, each person in your party will receive a delicious custom Blacknose Sheep cupcake from Sassie Cakes. Just a few sessions are still available. Collective Soul has charted a path that most rock bands dream of, but only few achieve. The band's enduring rock hits like "Shine" and "The World I Know" testify to their Southern grit and stick-to-you-like-glue melodies. Now celebrating three decades, their newest release, Here to Eternity, features songs like the blues-tinged “Bluer Than Blue” and roots rocker “Not the Same.” Collective Soul is a musical journey that's just getting started! At last! The original stage version of the cult movie is now LIVE on stage; see Dr. Frank N. Furter match wits (?) with the innocent young newlyweds? Thrill to the delightfully trashy rock and roll music! It isn’t a play, it isn’t a musical, it isn’t a rock concert…It’s a sort of glitter, rock, horror, comedy, transvestite circus… And if you love-say, Sound of Music-you will probably hate it. The Rocky Horror Show is a sicko-wacko-weirdo rock concert. It keeps trying to blow your mind with loud music and perverted sexuality, but is so simpleminded, and so completely silly, that it ends up being a lot of fun. It may get a cult following. Musical is rated PG-13 for Adult Language and Content.
Concert in the Woods
Sunday, September 15, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Lindenwood Nature Preserve, 600 Lindenwood Avenue
Stop by the campfire, grab a soft drink and a snack and take a short walk to the Sassafras Hollow stage for one of the most unique entertainment experiences in town—a live folk-rock concert in the woods. Musician Adam Baker is the featured artist. All ages are welcome. Admission is free.
Book Sales

Book sales are open to the public and feature hardback books for $1, paperback books for 50¢ and DVDs for $1. Other items such as magazines, cards, CDs and puzzles are also available. Donations of these items are accepted year round.
Bonus Sunday Heritage Concert Series

Wild Walkers

“Tracey’s Trails,” 408 Roy Street, Winona Lake
This adult hiking group meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month for a walk on the wild side. Each hike features a different natural area in the region (parks, wetlands, nature preserve, etc.) and carpooling is available when necessary. Travel Fort Wayne’s rivers on Sweet Breeze, an authentic 1840 canal boat replica. This fully accessible tour provides an opportunity to learn something new about Fort Wayne through its riverfront. Choose 90, 60 or 45-minute cruise options. Tickets are $30 per person for a 90-minute cruise, $23 for a 60 minute tour and $20 per person for 45-minute cruise. Reservations can be made online (until midnight on day prior to tour) at www.RideSweetBreeze.org or via the Fort Wayne Parks App; in person at the Parks and Recreation Offices (705 East State Blvd.) or by phone 260-427-6000 during normal business hours. Trek the Trails

The 2024 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet for an 7.8 mile bike ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Trek the Trails is sponsored by UAW Local #2209, Three Rivers Velo Sport and Bike Fort Wayne and is presented by the City of Fort Wayne and Fort Wayne Trails.
