What’s Happening in the Parks
The week ahead
Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week ahead:
Reminder:
Concert in the Woods
Sunday, September 15, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Lindenwood Nature Preserve, 600 Lindenwood Avenue
Stop by the campfire, grab a soft drink and a snack and take a short walk to the Sassafras Hollow stage for one of the most unique entertainment experiences in town—a live folk-rock concert in the woods. Musicians Adam Baker and Victor Zapari are the featured artists. All ages are welcome. Admission is free.
Fort Wayne Civic Theatre Fall Musical: The Rocky Horror Show
Friday, September 13, 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 14, 11:59 p.m.
Foellinger Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd.
At last! The original stage version of the cult movie is now LIVE on stage; see Dr. Frank N. Furter match wits (?) with the innocent young newlyweds? Thrill to the delightfully trashy rock and roll music! It isn’t a play, it isn’t a musical, it isn’t a rock concert…It’s a sort of glitter, rock, horror, comedy, transvestite circus… And if you love-say, Sound of Music-you will probably hate it. The Rocky Horror Show is a sicko-wacko-weirdo rock concert. It keeps trying to blow your mind with loud music and perverted sexuality, but is so simpleminded, and so completely silly, that it ends up being a lot of fun. It may get a cult following. Musical is rated PG-13 for Adult Language and Content.
