Registration Opens for Free Tree Seedlings
Bare root trees, ready to plant for Arbor Day
Fort Wayne, Ind – In celebration of Arbor Day 2025, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in partnership with Trees Indiana will offer over 150 seedlings to the public (one per household) via a simple phone registration.
Eastern White Pine, Red Oak and American Plum tree seedlings will be offered to those who register on a first come first served basis while supplies last. Those who want a free tree seedling should call 260-427-6000 during normal business hours now through April 23 to reserve a seedling. The bare root seedlings must be picked up on Friday, April 25, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Kettler Park located at Buell Drive and Paulding Road.
Trees are an asset to communities when planted properly and maintained. They help improve visual appeal in a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide habitat for wildlife, among many benefits.
