Sweetheart Orchid Display

Open through March 8

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.

Make a date for the Botanical Conservatory to enjoy the lovely indoor gardens and special display of orchids. Take a moment to capture a photo under the orchid arbor planted with a cascade of striking Cattleyas, fragrant Dendrobiums, dainty Oncidiums, and moth-like Phalaenopsis against a backdrop of our lush Tropical Garden. Then, browse the Conservatory gift shop and purchase an orchid or other sweet memorable gift.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is inviting citizens to participate in the Citizen Match Tree Planting Program. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Forestry Team is responsible for maintaining our publicly owned urban canopy, comprised of almost 50,000 street trees located along nearly 1300 miles of roadway and 20,000 trees found within our 87 parks.

Community Unity Night

Tuesday, February 18, 5:30 p.m.

Weisser Park Youth Center, 802 Eckart St.

Citizens can take part in a community safety forum then enjoy a light meal along with games and prizes for the kids. These events are great opportunities for neighbors to meet and greet with each other and also engage with some Fort Wayne Police Department officers. This free program is hosted by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department, the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne United, the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne and B96.9.
