Fort Wayne, Ind – Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation announces that Fort Wayne’s Foellinger Theatre will host Lake Street Dive on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. The concert will start at 8:00 p.m.

By blending a variety of genres including pop, rock, R&B, and jazz, the eclectic Lake Street Dive has risen to become one of the premiere alternative rock bands. The band’s most recent album “Obviously,” is referenced as their “first truly abashed yacht rock record” by Rolling Stone magazine (2021) and topped the charts at No. 1 on Americana/Folk, No. 2 on Rock Albums, and No. 2 on Alternative Albums. Madison Cunningham will play as the opening act.

All general and in-person sales at the Parks and Recreation Department (705 East State Blvd.) begin Friday, April 1, at 10:00 a.m. For more information, visit www.fortwayneparks.org and click on Purchase Theatre Tickets.

City Golf Courses Close due to Weather Conditions

Effective on Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27

 

Fort Wayne, Ind –The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department has decided to close the City Golf Courses for the weekend due to the current weather conditions. All three courses will be closed on Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27. If weather permits, courses will re-open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.

To check on course availability on Monday, March 28, or to schedule tee times call the golf course clubhouse where you plan to play.

Registration continues for Camp ACTI-Venture

The brand new Camp ACTI-Venture at the Botanical Conservatory engages campers in active, adventurous fun! It incorporates off-site excursions to city and state parks, rivers, trails and other recreation destinations. Campers will experience zip lining, kayaking, hiking, bouldering, fire building and orienteering activities. Another perk is cooling off in freshwater sources. Camp ACTI-Venture integrates exploration and nature play to foster individual accomplishment, community belonging and character development. Natural elements of earth, air, water and fire are also explored through safe, outdoor challenges that are designed to educate and thrill. Registration deadlines are one week prior to each session. Temporary fencing to be installed around playground pods through mid-May

Fort Wayne, Ind –  In order to perform routine upgrades to the playground surfacing for Taylor’s Dream Boundless Playground in Kreager Park, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation will install temporary fencing around the three playground pods beginning the week of March 7, 2022. See the attached photo for proposed fencing area. The upgrades to the safety surfacing are expected to take some time, which is why the preparations are beginning in early March. The goal is to re-open the playground with the upgrades by mid-May or earlier.
