Fort Wayne Parks to Hold Three Open Houses
Tuesday and Wednesday, October 10 and 11  

Fort Wayne, Ind –Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation will host three open houses this week for the public to see input provided since May for the 10-year Comprehensive Planning project. Residents are invited to stop in at their convenience to provide input and interact with staff.

The Open House events will be held at three different locations and at day and evening times in an effort to accommodate as many residents as possible.

Botanical Brew

Friday, October 6, 4:00-9:00p.m.

Foellinger-Friemann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street

Meet your friends downtown at the Botanical Conservatory for a sampling of all things brewed. Your taste buds are sure to relish local favorites as you sample coffee, tea, cider, craft beer, and wine. Wander the gardens and enjoy featured food truck fare and entertainers busking throughout. Packaged beverages will also be available for purchase. No outside food or beverage is permitted. Botanical Brew is sponsored by 89.1 WBO1, WANE 15, and Fort Wayne Metals. All ages are welcome! Admission is $10 per person.

Park Foundation Pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street

Revisit Oktoberfest in October for Confluence Kitchen! Spend an evening learning about German culture from the German Heritage Society through food and different activities. Visit Teds Snack + Bar to indulge in some German beverages. Food will also be available for purchase. Sign up at https://riverfrontfw.org/event/40841/. Admission is $5.

Feather Fest

Saturday, September 30, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lindenwood Nature Preserve, 600 Lindenwood Avenue

Fly to Lindenwood Nature Preserve for a free family-fun birding festival. Explore up to four hiking trails with guides and watch for over 70 bird species. Special crafts and activities will thrill kids and Soarin’ Hawk returns to inform and entertain with their birds.
