Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy an evening of live music in a beautiful country setting. Hear local musicians, Cassie Beer from Rosalind and the Way (Americana), Rogues & Bandits (alternative rock with a blues rock/folk twist) and the Debutants (string band with strong rock and roll influence). John Ondrasik—the songwriter and performer known as the platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated, Five For Fighting has penned major hits, including the chart-topping "100 Years," "The Riddle," "Chances," "World," and " Superman (It's Not Easy)," which have earned tens of millions of streams and place him as a top-10 Hot Adult Contemporary artist for the 2000s. Ondrasik will have his full band on stage with him. Yoga on the Riverfront

Free yoga on the Riverfront continues on the second Sunday of the month at Promenade Park overlooking the St. Marys River. This relaxing, one-hour flow is for all skill levels, led by instructor Chelsea Vona, owner of Discover Yoga. Yoga mats can be provided if needed.

Trek the Trails Bike Ride

The 2022 Trek the Trails season continues on Tuesday evenings. Meet at the Engle Road Trailhead for a nine mile ride. There is no cost to participate. All experience levels are welcome and participation is at your own risk. Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. Salomon Farmers’ Market

Wednesday, August 17 and each Wednesday until September 7, 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Find fresh produce, baked goods, honey, homemade pies and artisan goods from local growers and makers. Tractor rides will be offered for $5 per person (free for age 2 and younger) on August 17 and The Retro Revival Band will play outside the barn under the trees, weather permitting.

  

Salomon Farm Park U-pick Flowers

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

U-Pick flower fields are now available. U-pick Sunflowers, Zinnias and other flowers will be available to pick your own bouquet on Wednesdays during the Farmers’ Market and on Thursdays and Fridays at the same hours. Saturday u-pick hours are longer, from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Prices vary per type of flower. Follow the signs to find the U-Pick fields near the Heritage Barn. Some sections will be reserved for professional photographers with photo passes and picking will not be permitted in those fields.

 

River Rangers

Thursday, August 18, and each Thursday through August 25, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Incorporate some STEM learning into your child’s summer experience at the Riverfront. On August 18, River Rangers will get a boost on understanding gravity and construction by building a marble maze. A-MAZe-ing work will earn them a STEM badge. This program is free, however space is limited to 25 children. Catch a glimpse of a day in Paris: City of Light & Love in the showcase garden along with the Tropical and Desert gardens in the Conservatory. Admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free.

 

Tread the Trails

Engle Road Trailhead, Engle Road and Statesmans Way, near 7001 Engle Road

Tread the Trails is for individuals of all skill levels; runners, walkers and wheelchair users are invited to participate. All Tread the Trails events are five kilometers in distance, with the option for a longer or shorter experience if the participant chooses. All should be prepared with water. Individuals participate at their own risk. Tread the Trails takes place every other Thursday. Tread the Trails is organized by Fort Wayne Public Works and Fort Wayne Trails in partnership with the Fort Wayne Running Club and the City of New Haven. Weeknight Sweet Breeze Cruises

Tommy has performed on every Boston tour since 2007 playing to sold out audiences all over the world. This show closes with a full set of Boston classic hits from the 1970's and 80's with a top band of touring professionals featuring August Zadra on lead guitar/vocals (Dennis DeYoung Band). Tommy DeCarlo will be joined by special guest Rudy Cardenas of American Idol and a full set of Journey classic hits. Choose 90 minute or a 45 minute cruise options on weekends. Tickets are $27 per person for a 90-minute cruise, and $17 per person for 45-minute cruise. River, Set, Go! Featuring the Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races

Saturday, August 6, 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Riverfront Fort Wayne and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation invite everyone to the 3rd annual River, Set, Go! featuring the Fort Wayne Dragon Boat Races. Dragon boat racing originates from China and features 21-person teams paddling down the rivers towards victory as the drums beat out a frenzied rhythm. River, Set, Go! offers an opening ceremony with the Chinese Friends and Families Association at 9:15 a.m. followed by the thrilling spectacle of racing, floating yoga and lawn games in the afternoon, live bands and a paddle parade in the evening, and a floating fire pit finale to cap off an exciting day! Sponsored by ABC 21 WPTA, 97.3 WMEE and Steel Dynamics, Inc.

 

Dippin’ Dogs

Northside Aquatic Center

The dog swim is open to Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department dog park permit holders only. Four 45-minute sessions will begin at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. with a maximum of 25 dogs per session. At this time, all sessions have been reserved, but media are welcome to cover the doggy paddling festivities. See the complete rules at www.fortwayneparks.org. Dogs only will be in the water. Handlers must remain on deck. Regular pool admission fees apply for humans.
