Fort Wayne, Ind. – The following events and programs are happening the week ahead:
Featuring:
Literacy Expo at Promenade!
Sunday, April 23, 1:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Park Foundation pavilion, Promenade Park, 202 West Superior Street
Join us for the very first Riverfront Literacy Expo in celebration of World Book Day. Learn about programs and organizations that provide reading assistance and other literacy services in Fort Wayne. There will be activities for the entire family, including book readings, meet and greet with local authors, an open mic poetry reading from 11:00-noon and a poetry scavenger hunt. Guests can also check out a book from the Human Library, learn about local sports teams reading programs, read to a pet from Animal Care and Control, grab a bite from a food truck and more. Donate gently-used children’s fiction and non-fiction books to benefit mini libraries in local parks. This FREE community event is a great way to engage and learn through others perceptions, struggles and growth by sharing experiences and various forms of literature.
